Hike
to Brunswick Point where you'll find the remnants of the original cannery
in Ladner. Brunswick Point is visible from the Brunswick Room in Canoe
Pass Inn. This walk is considered one of the most scenic in the Lower
Mainland.
Delta's Watershed Park offers a variety of experiences including mountain
biking, horseback riding, nature walks in a second growth forest, all
of which can be capped of with a refreshing drink of pure water from our
artesian wells.
Biking
We have three bicycles available for your convenience. Take the time
to ride the local dikes.
Bird
Watching
Just across the river is Westham Island which is home to the world famous
Reifel Bird Sanctuary. Canoe Pass Inn is on the Pacific Flyway for millions
of wintering shorebirds and waterfowl. At the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary
over 230 species of birds have been sighted within the 750 acres of managed
habitat and estuarine marsh. Each November marks the return of thousands
of snow geese from Wrangel Island in the Arctic. Birders can even enjoy
their hobby while relaxing on the patio and watching the resident swans
and cygnets. Ducks and eagles are also regular visitors to our neighbourhood.

Local Specialty Foods
Pick fresh, delicious strawberries, raspberries and blueberries from
any of the Westham Island berry farms located only minutes away. There
is an abundance of fresh local vegetables available from local farmers
and seafood is available from your hosts or other local fishermen.
Eco-Tourism
Companies operating in Delta offer a multitude of exciting options for
boating on the Fraser River or further out to the Gulf Islands, including
whale watching, fishing, sea lion tours and kayaking adventures.
Agri-tours and interpretive walking tours of the natural areas are also
unique tourist attractions offered in Delta.
Burns Bog, an ecological gem, located near the center of Delta, offers
10,000 acres of wetland experience by way of boardwalks and walking trails.
It's inhabitants include: bear, deer, fox, coyote, beaver and 150 species
of birds.
Sportsfishing
As Colin is a Commercial Fisherman, he can help you with your sportsfishing
needs. Ask us about going out on his 40 foot gillnetter or speed boat
for fresh Dungeoness Crab or Salmon or maybe just having a tour of the
river. Availablity is somewhat limited, however, depending on the tides,
weather, and commercial fishing openings. The best times to enjoy the
sportsfishing is between April and July and you must have a valid sportsfishing
license that we can help you obtain.
Golfing
There are many fine golf courses in the area, including a challenging
nine hole course, Cove
Links, just 5 minutes away and Tsawwassen
Golf and Country Club,
Point Roberts Golf Club, and many other courses nearby.
Beaches
Spend a day at Centennial Beach in Boundary Bay. Walk or bike the dike
that borders Boundary Bay or swim in the cool ocean waters. Picnic,
playground and concession stand facilities also available.
Parks
Banking
on the Fraser River, Deas Island Regional Park is a great place for wind-sailing,
wake boarding, swimming, fishing, kayaking, rowing or water-skiing. Enjoy
a picnic and then walk through the island's extensive trail system.
The bald eagles in Ladner Harbour Park and Ladner Marsh are a huge attraction
for residents and tourists alike. Within the Delta Nature Reserve, and
in the vital wetland habitat found in Boundary Bay Regional Park, there's
great hiking past beaver dams and through cedar groves.
Community Events
Ladner hosts its annual May Days the last weekend of May. Weekend events
include a men's fastpitch tournament, parade, crowning of the May Queen
and a midway with games and rides.
The Ladner Village Market takes place every second Sunday from June 1
through August 31, in historic Ladner village. 48th Avenue is closed to
traffic for an open air market. Browse the wares of crafters, artisans
and hobbyists, stock up on fresh, local produce, sample specialty and
ethnic foods, then treat the kids to the children's activities. Also live
music and a chance for a little street dancing. Save a little time to
stoll about the village core and view the many heritage buildings. Dates

Dining
Ladner has a wide variety of restaurants including La
Belle Auberge,
a French Country Inn with fine cuisine owned by World Champion chef Bruno
Marti. Neighborhood pubs, family restaurants, Italian, Greek and quality
steak and seafood can also be found locally.
Local Attractions
Take a step back in time by visiting the Delta Museum and Archives or
try one of the Delta Heritage Advisory Commission's driving, bicycling
and walking tours of Delta's rural and urban heritage treasures.
Ladner
Leisure Centre has a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, slide and
weight / excercise room, along with an ice rink and meeting rooms.
Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation
Society, also known as O.W.L. is a facility
that treats injured and orphaned wildlife. Tour the facility and learn
more about protected wildlife.
Silvercity Riverport is a large theatre complex located just north of
Ladner through the Massey Tunnel. It is located on Entertainment Boulevard
in Richmond, which also houses a bowling alley, wave pool and ice centre.
Splashdown Park is only 10 minutes away. This park is popular with the
kids for its large waterslides.
F440 is located next to Splashdown Park and is open year round (weather
permitting). It offers Italian Race Carts that can reach top speeds of
55 kph while the cars can reach 90 kph. The track has a large viewing
area to enjoy all the action.
Boundary Bay Airport
Boundary Bay Airport serves the sprawling Municipality of Delta including
Ladner.In 1999, Boundary Bay was the 5th busiest airport in Canada. Boundary
Bay is situated in close proximity to Vancouver International Airport.
BC Ferries
Canoe Pass Inn is only 15 minutes from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal
for BC Ferries. Ferries sail to Nanaimo and Victoria on Vancouver Island,
as well as to the Southern Gulf Islands.
Vancouver
